Volunteers & Interns Wanted

Help rehabilitate wildlife and give back to nature by volunteering or interning with OWL. See our position descriptions so you can specify your area of interest when you apply online.

When you find an injured or orphaned wild animal...

  1. Keep pets and children away.
  2. Do not feed or water.
  3. Call OWL immediately at (785) 542-3625 or (913) 631-6566.
  4. Take the animal to one of OWL's facilities.
  5. Don't stop there! Prepare yourself for your next wildlife encounter by browsing our library articles.

 

 

Operation Wildlife (OWL) provides rehabilitation and veterinary services to injured and orphaned Kansas wild animals. We also provide wildlife education to the citizens of northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri.

Wild animal releases -- Week ending August 18th - 1 nighthawk, 1 coopers hawk, 1 racing pigeon, 1 robin, 1 cottontail, 1 bluebird, 2 house finches, 1 field mouse

 

A Glimpse of OWL


Remember... Wild animals are protected by state and federal wildlife laws. It is illegal to have a wild animal in your possession - even if you are trying to care for it. Keeping a wild animal as a pet is also unsafe. Offer injured or orphaned animals their best chance for survival by taking them to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
